The American Persimmon tree is native to the entire Eastern seaboard. It is a slow growing deciduous tree that when fully mature could be 30-60 feet tall with a spread of 20+ feet. 

This species produces an edible orange, tomato shaped fruit that ripens in the fall. It can be found as a tasty inclusion in baked goods and made into a fantastic jam. Wildlife also enjoy making a meal from its fruit.
